Let me pray for you, for Pete's sake

In this month where we acknowledge all the parents who have lost babies during pregnancy, at birth, as infants, I wanted to bring back an old tradition from here. On the fifteenth of each month I would gather prayer requests for those who carry the cross of infertility or the loss of a child.

As a way to honor the child I lost through miscarriage, Peter Mark, and to share your burden, please allow me to pray for you or your loved ones who are carrying the cross of infertility or loss of a child.

You may share your prayer request in the comment box. Comments may be anonymous and please feel free to share as much or as little as you like.

  1. For peace and healing in my upcoming birth, specifically that I can focus on the beauty of our new baby's birth and bond with him/her without having it overshadowed by the grief of our losses. Thanks, Bonnie!

  3. Thank you for doing this (and thank you Mandi for posting about it). I've lost all three of my babies - John Martin, Agnes Helene, and Michael Augustine. Please pray that we have a child/children here on earth?

  5. What a beautiful idea, Bonnie! I would really love your prayers this month as we just lost a six-week old baby two weeks ago. It was my second miscarriage. Again, I love this offer of prayer, and will pray for you and the other women who request prayers for their loss here as well. Thank you <3

  13. Please pray for our family as well. We have lost three babies. Pearl Night in August in 2009. Gianna Marigold in 2014. Jordan Apple in April 2015. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant, but I am already starting to struggle with blood pressure issues which seem to occur every time I am pregnant. So, if you could pray for the repose of their souls and that this pregnancy will be carried to a safe and healthy conclusion for both this baby and me I would appreciate it. Thanks!

  16. For our marriage and that God will bless us with children here on earth. We lost our son, Ignatius Allen, through miscarriage. It's so hard. So many babies around us-- including two sisters-in-law due around what would have been my due date.

  19. After a miscarriage and then a pregnancy that resulted in a traumatic delivery of my son (thankfully he is now a healthy 16 month old), I ask for prayers that God will give us more children and that the pregnancies and deliveries are safe and healthy! Thank you!

  20. Please pray for my sister. She is 52, dying of cancer, has about 2-3 weeks to live. One of the things she is most sad about is that she never got to raise any kids. She did have a miscarriage in her early 20's... I don't know if she believes it or not, but I have told her before that she does have a child in Heaven!! I think she is saved... is a Christian. Through all the horror of this time, one thing I am rejoicing about is that she will get to be with her daughter very soon.

  31. Six years ago this October I lost my first baby, at 8 weeks. I remember it was October because when I came home from the OB to finish miscarrying, they were playing "Back to the Future" on TV, and they always play in during October--have you noticed?

Today, my 8th grade students notified me that tomorrow is the actual date that "Marty" goes back to the future in the movie. Today I went home and kissed and kissed my baby boy, three years old. "Mama! Stop kissing me! I'm working, and there's no kissing during work!" he exclaimed. How could I? How could he understand what a need I had to kiss his sweet, sweaty head?

After his birth, I was convinced God existed. After his birth, I converted to the Catholic church. Maybe one day in Heaven I'll meet my baby, my first one. But for now, thank you--for your prayers, for your blog, for your voice.

  33. For us to become parents as God will's it. We lost a child extremely early on about 6 months ago, Denis Marie. After 6 years of IF, we are finally ready to look into adoption. Please pray that we will get to become parents to a living child. But God's will be done! Thank you!!!

  36. Hi Bonnie, would you please pray for my husband and I as we seek healing from our 3 miscarriages this year, we lost Theodore at 18 weeks in Feb 2016, March 2016 Augustine and July 2016 at 11 weeks Alexander. Many days it feels like too much to bear. I ask specifically that you ask Mother Mary to bring to Jesus the request for my healing, since I suffer from 2 autoimmune diseases and struggle with exhaustion that makes it hard for me to bear day to day activities in the family and that God restore hope and joy to the life of our family, especially my husband and I. Amen! And thank you!
