JF (and Travis and I) need your prayers
If we're Facebook friends then you already know that on Tuesday night JF had a seizure and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
A lot has happened in between but right now I'm asking for your prayers.
At 2pm Central time JF will have an MRI and a lumbar puncture (I think that's what it's called, it's kind of like a spinal tap). Right now we have *no idea* why the seizure happened.
Please pray everything goes well while JF is sedated for his procedure.
Please pray that God will guide his doctors, nurses, and technicians while they care for him.
Please pray for Travis and I as we make decisions for him.
Please pray for JF that he will find comfort (he can't eat or drink or leave his room and he hates his IV).
Please pray for us as we try to make him happy while he is really grumpy.
Please pray for our hearts since this whole experience has thrown salt on old wounds.
And why not pray that gas prices go down since we've been making many trips to and from the hospital.
Also, sorry, but the Sheenazing Awards will probably have to be delayed just a little bit. I know you understand.
Fulton Sheen, pray for us!

Oh my goodness, what a terrifying experience! Praying for all the intentions you mentioned, and especially for your heart, which has been through so much!ReplyDelete
Lots and lots of prayers! Had been drawn to your blog this week after Christmas hiatus from blog-reading...God must have put you on my heart. Tough stuff; trusting God will provide for the needs of the moment as they come. Love and blessings!!ReplyDelete

Bonnie - I am so sorry. Prayers for all of you. I will include James and your family in my Divine Mercy Chaplet intentions today. Our Lady of Good Remedy, pray for us!ReplyDelete
Oh Bonnie, praying for a safe, peaceful outcome for little James...and strength for you and Travis!!!ReplyDelete
Is there a Child Life Specialist available at the hospital? They are skilled in helping kids to cope with hospitalizations (and surely could be of help with regard to his IV situation). Thinking of you!ReplyDelete
Lauren, yes there is and she has been amazing! She has tried every little thing to bring comfort to James and we are so grateful. Thank you for the tip!Delete
child life is awesome.Delete
Oh sweetie... I've been in your shoes twice and it is *NOT* fun. Definitely praying for James in the midst of this but also for you that you be strengthened according to your need. Being a mama in the peds/PICU is torturous.ReplyDelete
I would totally come and hug you and sit with you so you could go for a walk and shower if I was nearby -- I remember how wonderful it was when people did that for me.
Prayers coming your way.ReplyDelete
Praying for you, Travis, and your sweet James, Bonnie!ReplyDelete
I first came to your blog when James was just born and going through so much. We already know he's a fighter (as are you and Travis). Prayers coming your way.ReplyDelete
Praying, praying, praying!!!!ReplyDelete
Prayers for you all!!!ReplyDelete
How scary! So many prayers Bonnie!!ReplyDelete
I will be praying for you and your family. May God bless and hold you tight!ReplyDelete
Many prayers for you, your family and your sweet son. My autistic sister had a grand map seizure out of the blue once, and her neurologist told us that "everyone gets one free seizure in life." We will pray that this is an isolated incident.ReplyDelete
You are all in my prayers. God bless you.ReplyDelete
Didn't catch your FB status, just rdg this now, Fri AM and praying, friend.ReplyDelete
Lots of prayers.
Praying for James and your family and all of your requests.ReplyDelete
Oh, Bonnie. I am so sorry, and I will pray that the doctors figure out what happened. I will also pray for you and your husband.ReplyDelete
Praying for your sweet baby boy blue! Salt on old wounds, indeed. May you have an abundance of Faith, Hope and Love--and lots of feelings of supernatural peace--in your heart.ReplyDelete
I just saw this, Bonnie. Praying for little James and your family!!!ReplyDelete
As a sister of a 14 year old with epilepsy (having only recently been going throught this) I will be saying lots of prayers. I hope your family is doing okay, I know it's tough!ReplyDelete
